Xuecen Zhang holds a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design and an MFA from Parsons School of Design. Her practice explores the profound connection between humans and nature, emphasizing themes of time, space, and self through experiential and experimental techniques. Using her body as a medium, Zhang creates luminous prints and employs camera obscura to document and interpret her encounters with the natural world. Her work reflects a deep reverence for trees and the innate human longing to reconnect with the earth, an instinct rooted in our biological heritage. Zhang’s art invites viewers to reflect on their relationship with nature and its renewing power.
